When the people of Sinjhuan Village first settled down here for development, the issue of education for children came into mind after the livelihood gradually stabilized.
Therefore, the villagers made contributions to buy land, and constructed a private school known as Yuying Academy on the square just in front of the Confucius Temple (Sinjhuang Community Activity Center). Teachers were employed to tutor, but the education ceased when the Japanese sent the teachers home, as they were concerned that the educated villagers would not obey the Japanese government.
In the 70th Taiwanese year (1981), the Confucius Temple was transferred to its present location because the administrative committee of Confucius Temple donated part of the land to construct the community activity center; and Yuying Academy has 274 years of history to date (2010).
